NEW YORK – February 8, 2021 – Thrillist, the #1 food, drink and travel brand for Gen Z and Millennials [source: Comscore Media Matrix & Plan Metrix, Q3 2020] today announced that it has launched a new, year-long editorial initiative, “The Roaming 20s,” which is dedicated to a new era of travel sparked by the disruptive impact of COVID-19 and working remotely. “The Roaming 20s” reflects Thrillist’s new editorial approach to travel content for consumers desperately missing their getaways. Thrillist is launching a movement of exploration and escape, reinventing “home,” “office,” and “vacation” to unleash the nomad in us all.

“At Thrillist, we are dedicated to the culture of experience, and as we approach a year in quarantine, we are all craving new experiences more than ever,” said Meghan Kirsch, Chief Content Officer at Thrillist. “With ‘The Roaming 20s,’ we want to help our audience discover fresh and safe ways to seek adventure, immerse themselves in other cultures and inspire them with personal stories about finding life’s bright spots during a particularly difficult time. Travel and play are so important to the human experience.”

“The Roaming 20s” will consist of a pop-up editorial vertical, bespoke video slate, trips and more – Thrillist is talking to creative risk takers about how they used 2020 to start a new chapter, flip their work-life balance, seek out new adventures, and have a ton of fun doing it. After a year of unprecedented challenges, over 83% of consumers are eager to try local travel in 2021 [source: Group Nine Future of Travel Survey. Laboratory Nine and Bright-Siders audience panels, 695 total respondents, P13+, December 2020].

To further own the travel and experience category, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Thrillist will offer all-inclusive RV trips in the NY Finger Lakes region. “The Thrillist Caravan” invites groups of two to six people to rent a fully stocked RV and enjoy an exclusive experience over four days and three nights (Thur-Sun). Thrillist’s new 2021 travel focus will cater to those who seek to explore their curiosity and creativity with how they live, where they work, what it means to travel, and why it’s important to play.

“The Roaming 20s” will feature three distinct sections – each with programming geared to a different aspect of modern migration, which include: Work from Anywhere, Hit the Road and Make a Move.
