NEW YORK – (December 8, 2021) – Thrillist, the #1 experience brand for Millennials and Gen Z [Source: Comscore Media Matrix & Plan Metrix, Q4 2021], today announced “Slay Ride,'' a telethon-inspired fundraiser creating holiday joy in support of The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people. For the 2nd installment of the hit holiday franchise, “Slay Ride” will pay homage to the nostalgic 60's-style telethon with a vibrant drag makeover – all in the name of charity. “Slay Ride” will be hosted by Manila Luzon and Monique Heart, stars of the Paramount+ Original Series "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars." Joined by all of their fabulous drag queen friends to work the phone bank, this live-streamed holiday special will bring audiences over-the-top shablam contests, boozy cocktail how-to’s, and a big musical number to end the virtual event. Sponsored by Paramount+ “Queen of the Universe,” “Slay Ride” will stream on Thrillist’s YouTube, Facebook and website, and simulcast on NowThis’ YouTube channel on December 15th at 5p EST / 2p PST.

"At the heart of Thrillist is a passion for culture, community and bringing people together through authentic shared experiences,” said Meghan Kirsch, Chief Content Officer at Thrillist. “We’re so excited to bring back our ‘Slay Ride’ holiday franchise for the second year, this time through an inspired throwback to the analog days of a telethon with a drag makeover that not only entertains, but meaningfully supports LGBTQ youth via The Trevor Project.”

“Slay Ride” holiday special is free to attend, and viewers can virtually tip the performers through Thrillist’s partnership with Tiltify, the industry leader in virtual fundraising geared to the mobile generation. All proceeds and tips collected during the telethon will be donated to The Trevor Project’s work to end suicide among LGBTQ young people.

“We are so excited to partner with Thrillist for this year’s ‘Slay Ride’ telethon, and even more grateful for the generosity they have shown The Trevor Project,” said Shira Kogan, Director of Corporate Development at The Trevor Project. “As loved ones are reuniting for the holidays, we must remember that this can be a challenging time for LGBTQ young people. Our research shows that only 1 in 3 LGBTQ youth found their home to be LGBTQ-affirming, further emphasizing the life-saving impact of community and safe spaces this time of year. By coming together and spreading joy virtually, ‘Slay Ride’ is sending a powerful message to LGBTQ young people: you are loved, you are celebrated, and you are never alone.”

While drag superstars Manila Luzon and Monique Heart are in-studio live in LA, whipping up signature cocktails by an open fire and taking calls live on-air from donors, there will be a merry group of queens including Jasmine Rice, Marti Cummings and Pissi Myles, “wo-manning” a donation call center from Thrillist HQ in NYC. From puppet show renditions of the Real Housewives to over-the-phone psychic readings, there will never be a dull moment during “Slay Ride.” Plus, the night will culminate with the Ms. Shablama Talent Pageant sponsored by Paramount+, making this the must-watch drag telethon event of the season.

Viewers can watch the “Slay Ride” trailer here, and tune in live across Thrillist’s social channels on December 15th at 5p EST / 2p PST!
