New York, NY (November 17, 2017) – In a one-on-one interview with NowThis Political Director Nico Pitney, Hillary Clinton directly addressed the recent spate of sexual assault allegations applauding the women who have come forward, but saying, “we need to change behavior.” Pitney also asked her about Alabama Senate Candidate Roy Moore and allegations that he had sexual relations with a 14-year-old minor.
“The rights and roles and opportunities of women have finally been recognized in a way that I think has given a lot of courage to individual women but also raised the stakes for all women, and with respect to the issues of sexual harassment and the kind of behavior we’re hearing about - a lot of women are finding it possible to come forward and to express themselves. So, I think they should be really credited and applauded, but we have to change behavior. We have to change people’s expectations about, say, the workplace between men and women or the family or politics...These issues now are finally surfacing and I hope people will not just feel bad or have a sense of identification but want to be part of the solution.”
When asked about recent Republican Senate Candidate Roy Moore’s alleged relationship with a 14-year-old, Clinton stated, “Neither 14-year-old girls or boys are adults.”
