NEW YORK (August 8, 2018) – NowThis, the no. 1 social news publisher in the world, today announced that Nancy Han will be joining as Executive Producer of NowThis Morning -- the brand’s upcoming daily news show on Facebook Watch, set to launch in September. Han will be responsible for leading and developing the show’s content strategy and overseeing all production, including breaking news and original enterprise reporting. Han is currently building out a new team that will be entirely dedicated to NowThis Morning -- including producers, technical crew and more. Han will be based in NowThis’ New York City headquarters and report to Chief Content Officer Tina Exarhos.
Han brings to NowThis more than 15 years of production leadership experience at some of the world’s largest news organizations. Most recently, Nancy was Senior Producer at CBS News where she was responsible for programming the 8am hour of CBS This Morning. During her tenure, the show won a 2017 Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast. Prior to joining CBS, Han was an Executive Producer at ABC News, overseeing the company’s 24/7 live-streaming channel, ABC News Now. Han previously was Executive Producer for ABC News’ early morning news programs: World News Now, America This Morning and Good Morning America News. Han has also taught for five years as an adjunct professor of journalism at NYU, her alma mater.
“NowThis has become the go-to news source for young audiences, reaching 70% of Americans in their 20’s each month, and we are beyond thrilled to welcome Nancy to our team. She is a true professional with a deep understanding of how to best deliver important stories to viewers. With NowThis Morning, we’ll be covering relevant news and report on timely issues of the day,” said Tina Exarhos, NowThis’ Chief Content Officer. “Nancy’s deep experience in live broadcast news production will be invaluable to us as we bring together a modern version of a morning show to the Facebook audience.”
“NowThis truly pioneered social, mobile news, and I couldn’t be more excited to help lead the brand’s next evolution into daily morning news programming,” said Han. “As media consumption continues to shift, NowThis is uniquely positioned to be the news organization of the future, and NowThis Morning is another great example of how they’re at the forefront of that shift.”
