NEW YORK (January 9, 2018) – NowThis, the no. 1 U.S. video news publisher on social, today announced Jon Laurence will be joining as Deputy Editor. Laurence will oversee the editorial vision and execution for NowThis’ news team and original news reporting; manage the day-to-day operations of the newsroom; and work in conjunction with the senior leadership team to develop strategic plans for future growth and expansion into new channels and markets. Laurence will be based in the brand’s New York City headquarters and report to Editor Sarah Frank.
Jon Laurence is an award-winning digital editor who most recently served as Head of Digital for Channel 4 News in the UK. In that role, Laurence ran the digital strategy and daily online output of the International Emmy-winning British TV program. Laurence was named “Online Editor of the Year” in the 2017 Online Media Awards, and led projects that were nominated for a Royal Television Society Award and a BAFTA for Digital Creativity. Laurence previously held senior positions at Telegraph Media Group and at rolling news channel Sky News.
