As Voters Head to the Polls, a Majority Believe that Voter Suppression will be a Serious Problem

NEW YORK, NY (November 5, 2018) -- NowThis, the no. 1 news publisher in the world on social media, today announced new results of its latest “America’s Future” Poll. The poll, conducted in partnership with PredictWise on November 4, 2018, had numerous new findings. 

Key findings (must credit: NowThis/PredictWise) 

-Millennial Enthusiasm - 64% of Americans ages 18-34 said that they have either already voted or will definitely vote in the midterms. This is an 8-point increase from a NowThis poll conducted on October 8, 2018, in which 56% of millennials responded that they would definitely vote, and a 1-point increase from a NowThis poll conducted on October 23, 2018. 

-Trump/Election Results - The majority of millennials (52%) believe that President Trump will not accept the election results if Republicans lose control of either the House or Senate.

-Trump Popularity - If it were a presidential election year, Trump would only get 37% of the vote.  

-Voter Suppression - The majority of voters (66% of Americans 18-34 and 55% nationally) believe that voter suppression is a serious problem. 

-Issues - Voters are slightly more likely to vote on the issue of healthcare (53% of Americans 18-34 and 47% nationally), rather than immigration (49% of Americans 18-34 and 43% nationally). 

The poll, conducted on November 4th sampled 600 non-millennials (ages 35 and older) and 600 millennials (ages 18-34) with a model error of +/- 5 percentage points. The results will be published on NowThis’ America’s Future site today.
